What is the Trans WangXian Mini Bang?
The Trans WangXian Mini Bang (TWXMB) is a moderated fandom event where writers and artists collaborate to create fanworks for the pairing of Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian. In this event, participants will focus on creating works that feature at least one member of the pairing as trans (including nonbinary). Over the designated creation period, paired writers and artists will work together. Once that period is over, participants will upload their works to our unrevealed AO3 collection, where we will reveal works on a set schedule.There is no minimum skill level required and no selection process! We welcome anyone to join us: whether it is your first fanwork or you're a seasoned creator. We'd love for people to connect and make new friends, and for us all to come together as a fandom to enjoy and celebrate trans headcanons! Our only restriction? No trans-exclusive/transphobic language or behavior will be tolerated, either prior to or during the event, and any such behavior may result in being barred or removed from the event.All communications for the event will take place through a dedicated Discord server, which will be linked in the sign-up forms once sign-ups open. You must have a Discord account or be willing to create one in order to participate.
How will it work?
Here’s a simple overview of how the process will work, in order, from sign-up to the final reveal:1) Writers sign-up and join the Discord server. Everyone is welcome, regardless of skill level.2) After the writer sign-up period is over, writers will create a summary for the fanfic that they want to write and submit it to moderators. We will collect these summaries, anonymize them, and present them to artists for them to select their claims on the works they prefer to create for. Writer identities must be kept anonymous during the claim process in order to reduce bias. Once the claiming period is complete and pairings are announced, you can talk about your ideas freely in the server only.3) After the writer sign-ups close, artists sign-up and join the Discord server. Everyone is welcome, regardless of skill level.4) Once all artists have joined the server, they will view the summaries and fill in a form to claim the fanfic they wish to create artwork for.5) Pairs will be matched. Artist/writer matching is done on a first come, first served basis. After everyone is matched up, the mod team will announce the artist/writer pairings, and then the creation period will begin.6) Participants will complete scheduled check-ins during the creation period.7) Fanfics will be submitted to betas (either provided through the event, or a beta you find outside of it), and then we’ll announce our posting schedule.8) All completed works will be posted to our AO3 collection, then revealed as per our posting schedule. We will create a social media post for each paired artist and writer that includes the artwork, the fic details, and a link to the works on AO3. Participants are welcome to promote their fics individually as well, but please mention and tag or link the Mini Bang when you do so. The full details of this, including step-by-step instructions will be posted in our server for participants.More specifics on how the event will run will be provided after the interest check closes!

˙⋆✮ This is a ship-specific event. Works must focus on the relationship between Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji. Other background pairings and poly relationships are allowed but the focal point must be Wangxian.˙⋆✮ The mods ask that creators do not portray underage characters in sexually explicit situations. Additionally, works containing incest are not permitted as a part of this event.˙⋆✮ This is an 18+ event, meaning NSFW works are allowed! However, content must be tagged appropriately both during matching and when posting the final works. Intentionally misleading, not tagging, or hiding potentially triggering content is grounds for removal from the event. Be honest!˙⋆✮ No trans-exclusive/transphobic language or behavior will be tolerated, either prior to or during the event, and any such behavior may result in being barred from admission or removed from the event. This applies to content within works as well as participant behavior in both the event discord server and on social media. Please do not be weird about trans people. Be respectful. That is really all we ask!Participation:
˙⋆✮ All participants must have a Discord account or must make one, as all communication and organization will take place through the event server. Discord ID will be mandatory for sign-ups and it is required to join the event server to participate.˙⋆✮ It is required that you have a "fandom email" (any email address you are comfortable sharing with other participants)˙⋆✮ All participants must be at least 18 years old, and all participants should have an AO3 account. If you do not have an account, please contact us and a mod will provide you with an AO3 invite.˙⋆✮ Fanworks must be considered complete by the time of posting. Fics must be able to stand alone if part of a series and should be beta-read. All fanworks must be not have been published anywhere else previously, including social media. Existing WIPs are fine to use, so long as they have not been publicly shared anywhere previously.˙⋆✮ Discussion of fanworks for this event must be kept within the Mini Bang server. Please do not discuss your ideas or works outside of the server prior to your pieces being revealed by the event mods. Part of the fun of a Bang is influx of brand new works!˙⋆✮ Writers must meet the minimum word count for the tier they signed up for. You may write more than the word count that the tier you signed up for requires, but you will still be locked into your original tier - a longer fic is a fun bonus for us, but there's no obligation for the artist you are paired with to do more if you decide to make your fic longer.˙⋆✮ Artists must meet the minimum art requirement for the tier they signed up for and for each writer they are paired with, if paired with multiple writers.˙⋆✮ Participants should respect the check-in requirements and assigned posting dates. If a participant is having trouble completing the minimum for the tier they signed up for, they are expected to contact a mod ASAP. Extensions may be granted in emergency situations, at mod discretion. Please note: regularly scheduled exams and school projects are NOT emergencies. We expect participants to be mindful of the schedule and plan accordingly for scheduled life events throughout the creation period.˙⋆✮ Participants may drop out at any point, but please let a mod know as soon as possible. We understand that things happens and life can be unpredictable, but please respect your fellow participants and communicate promptly with us so we can provide a pinch hitter. There will be no judgement from the moderators if you need to drop out for any reason, so please do not hesitate to reach out.˙⋆✮ Pinch Hitting: we ask that you only put yourself down for this role on the sign-ups if you are absolutely sure that you are able to create an additional fanwork if needed. Should someone drop out, mods will contact participants who indicated they'd like to be a pinch hitter, before contacting the non-participant pinch hitters.˙⋆✮ Participants must not post their works to social media until we have revealed them from the AO3 event collection. However, we strongly encourage participants to share their works on social media after they have been revealed!˙⋆✮ Give credit where credit is due: if you consulted anyone (authors, this includes beta readers that were not provided by the event), used references, or borrowed ideas (with permission), give them a shoutout in your author's note.˙⋆✮ Treat your fellow participants with kindness. If anyone is making you uncomfortable or is breaking the server or event rules, please contact a mod directly.˙⋆✮ Online harassment will not be tolerated, and admission to the event could be revoked if participants engage in such behaviors.Breaking any of the above rules will be grounds for immediate removal from the event.

A: Simply put - no. You can not choose the creator you will work with. The purpose of this event is to pair writers and artists together based on their interest in the content of the work itself! This is an opportunity to make a new friend! This also helps ensure that everyone who wants to participate gets to participate. You and your friend can totally create that great collaboration outside of the event.Q: Can I sign up for more than one role?
